We’ve all seen a movie or two, or read some newspaper article on how bad people abduct victims and enclose them in trunks to transport them to another place or simply to hide them for the time being.
But have you considered what would you do if you were in one of those situations? To help you, we’re going to point you some ways you could escape from a vehicle’s trunk.
Pulling the Trunk’s inner Release: Mandatory Since 2002!
Since 2002 there has been a law in vigor that demands that vehicle’s should be built with inner trunk release mechanisms so people can activate them and open the trunk in case of accident or foul play.
If you have the luck to be stuck in one of these vehicles, then search around for the trunk’s inner release mechanism and use it – make sure the guy who abducted you doesn’t get aware of it for optimal chances of escape.
Burst Through the Seats:
Some trunk’s face the backseats, and in these cases you can burst through the seats and escape – make sure the abductor isn’t inside when you do it though, or you’ll have to fight in a confined space and that doesn’t go well for people who are against someone with a weapon.
Getting the Trunk’s Release Cable: Get a Feel for Your Surroundings:
Another thing you can do is to start getting a feel of your surroundings inside your trunk, because there are some vehicles that have a mechanism to open the trunk from the inside of the car, and that happens through a cable that passes through the vehicle’s interior.
Find this cable and activate it in order to trigger the trunk to open – enjoy the fresh air.
Push Through the Brake Lights:
If all else fails, you should push the brake lights out of the vehicle, through sheer force, ripping the cables out and creating a hole that makes it possible for you to stick your hands off.
When you do this you can put your arms out through the gap you just created to signal people, drivers or passerbys in order to be released.
Now that you know how to tackle this problem, you can rest easy that you will be able to do the maximum you can should this unfortunate situation happen to you.
It is as they say – you better be safe than sorry – and we have your back through these small and helpful guides.
