We all know that London is one of the most picturesque areas in the whole world, so it should come as no surprise that a lot of movies are shot on a yearly basis in the capital city. If you’ve been stopped in traffic due to redirection in route in the morning, it can help to know that the reason you were 25 minutes late to work was because of Will Ferrel and Amy McAdams. Doesn’t that make it better?
Here are a couple of movies shot in London in 2019
The world has been waiting for a movie like this, and by the world, I mean every European. The comedy movie will feature Will Ferrel and Rachel McAdams playing characters fighting their way to the top of the Eurovision song contest through song. Their characters are Icelandic musicians named Lars Erikssong (if this isn’t a Will Ferrell-esque name, then I don’t know what is) and Sigrit Ericksdottir, and if that’s not enough to make you want to watch the film, I don’t know what will.
No time to die
If you’ve been waiting for Daniel Craig to show up on your screen, you will have to wait just a little longer because they filmed the new James Bond movie in London in 2019. Marking the 25th movie in the James Bond franchise, why don’t you make an event of it when it comes out? Book a room at the Montcalm for the night and enjoy a cinematic evening with Daniel Craig.
Kate Beckinsale paid a visit to London this year filming her new movie Jolt. The film is no rom-com, the fabulous actor features in an action movie as a bouncer with an anger management problem who is forced to use an electrified vest to “jolt” herself back into a state of calm when angered. I guess she hadn’t heard of the Montcalm Hotel Spa Deals.
I know this one isn’t a film but if you haven’t enjoyed Killing Eve yet, you really should. The dark comedy-drama series follows the relationship between a sociopathic assassin called Villanelle and the bored M15 agent Eve Polastri. Sandra Oh has won multiple Best Actress awards for her roles as Eve and believe you me she truly deserved it.
Two Weeks to Live
The comedy-drama Two Weeks to Live brings the fantastic Maisie Williams back into our lives. Game of Thrones, who? The film follows a brother and sister pair on a journey of crime. The film surrounds the two running from a gangster and the police with the help of an outcast who is “raised in the wilds”.
Us is an adaptation of David Nicholls 2014 novel about a couple with a troubled marriage travelling around Europe with their college-aged son. They stay in the likes of the Royal London House and enjoy Europe in a scenic way.
