Bose is well known for making high quality products. The Quiet Comfort 3 Sound cancelling headphones are no exception.
Here is what makes them exceptional:
First, you get Bose’s typical high quality sound, including crisp highs and deep bass, all clear and brilliant. You do not get any muffled sound that makes it sound like you’re listening through a blanket.
Second, they are indeed sound cancelling headphones. Bose uses an electronic full spectrum technology to identify “noise” and then dramatically reduce it. While it does not eliminate all background noise (no headphones do, by the way), you will be very pleasantly surprised at how little background noise you’ll hear.
Third, these headphones are small and lightweight. They rest on the ear, rather than over the ear, and so are a bit less ‘obtrusive’ than their slightly larger cousins, the Quiet Comfort 2. They weigh only 5.6 ounces. The bottom line is that your ears won’t hurt from the ‘pressure’ on your ears. There is a difference between the Quiet comfort 2 and the Quiet comfort 3, though in how the noise cancellation feature works. You do not have the airspace around your ears as you do with the QC2, so that the cancellation ‘waves’ are directed at your ear and not the space around it.
It comes with a 5 foot detachable single cable, a dual plug in adapter and what I really like – a rechargeable lithium ion battery.
