The museum is dedicated to one of its most famous residents, Susan B Anthony, who dedicated her life to promoting the welfare of all of America’s residents. Here you will come across a statue of her in conversation with another famous resident Frederick Douglass, who worked with her to improve the lives of everyday Americans. A great place to learn about the work carried out by Susan and Frederick Douglass is the Susan B. Anthony Museum.
See High Falls at Genesee Brew House
One of the most picturesque spots to visit in the 96 ft cascade on the Genesee River that flows through the centre of downtown in Rochester. It is located at a spot formerly home to one of the numerous flour mills that populated the area. It is a hit with tourists and visitors to the area and while there drop in at the Genesee Brew House for some great rooftop views.
Centennial Sculpture Garden
One of the best spots for art lovers to tour is the Memorial Art Gallery’s Centennial Sculpture Garden that is home to a large collection of exhibits both small and large. Visitors will be enthralled to find a fantastic collection of statues placed all over the garden area surrounded by amazingly pretty flowers and trees. The look of the place changes with the season that makes it the ideal spot to click some fabulous photographs.
The Conservatory at Eastman Museum
The property was once the home of the founder of the iconic Kodak Company, George Eastman and now serves as a museum. It houses a massive collection of film and photography. The property is maintained in exactly the same manner as it was during Mr Eastman’s time of stay. The highlight of the place is the conservatory which was smaller initially when it was constructed. Mr Eastman had the place renovated and made much more spacious for which he had the home divided into two sections. The Conservatory now occupies an entire section and is definitely worth a visit.
Corn Hill Landing
The beautiful Genesee River meanders through the heart of downtown Rochester and is an ideal spot to walk along its scenic banks. One of the more popular walks in the area is the Genesee River Trail located at Corn Hill Landing. It offers the best location for photography enthusiasts with panoramic views of the Rochester Skyline and where you will find the Memorial Bridge.
