I am Ehud Shrir and here I will share the experience of my one-month hostel life which I spent away from my family. Hostel life is known as the best part of the life of a student. The ones who have experienced the amaze and fun of hostel life want to spend that again and the ones who have not experienced this beautiful journey wish to spend some time once in their entire life. Well, hostel life has some goods and bads in it. Well, it has given me plenty of memories which is surely can remember to cherish throughout my life with ease. However, this can be an amazing journey with full of friends, fun, and freedom.
Why I had to stay at hostel for one month?
Well, my father has a transferable job. It was the last month of my college and my father got a transfer to another state. At this time, this transfer made me worried because it was just the end of my graduate degree and leaving at this time means ruining my hard work and progress of 4 years completely. I never stayed without my family before. So, it was becoming a terrible reality for me to make a choice between my family and my career. Well, with a heavy heart I decided to stay in the same city and go to my next home after completing my graduation. Well, the things were sorted and it became final that I will stay in my present city and my father and mother along my siblings will move to our next home. But here comes a problem that how I will stay alone and manage the food and other basic needs. So, to resolve every issue along with my safety my father decided that I should stay at a hostel for the rest of the time and complete my degree with ease. My stay at a hostel will keep them stress-free about my security, food and other essential needs because all of these things were the responsibility of the hostel owners. Well, to keep my family satisfied I went to a hostel to spend one month there to complete my studies.
My first day at the hostel
Well, when I went to a room where 4 people were there already and the room had only one empty bed which the warden gave me. It was my very first experience to stay at a hostel so I was a bit confused but my warden said all of the boys there that I am a new entry so they have to take care of me. Well, for me everything was a bit stranger therefore, I just put my bag near the bed which was now mine and sat on the bed silently. It is because I was unaware of the fact that what to do next.
Within a few time, I got many friends in my hostel
Then the boys who were sitting there came to me and introduce themselves. Gradually we started to talk about each other and within one hour we became good friends. At night, they took me to the mess of hostel where we enjoyed the dinner and then they introduced some more boys as their friends. Within one week I found many friends in the hostel with whom it was really amazing to spend time after coming back from college. Within a few days, I set myself emotionally and started to enjoy my hostel life with my roommates and other fellows. We were allowed to stay out of the hostel and to enjoy our lives till 8:00 pm. Therefore, we started to make plans for an outing on weekends so that we could collect some memories to recall when we will apart. Sometimes we decide to watch a movie and sometimes going for shopping was our plans.
Friday night was always a fun night for us
As Friday was the last working day of our week so, we always celebrated Fridays till late nights. Dancing, gaming, music, movies and various other fun activities were part of our Friday nights. Mostly, we played cards while enjoying music or enjoy our Friday nights watching movies. One of our roommates was fond of horror movies and he always wanted all of us to be a part of this activity. So, once, we decided to watch a horror movie by switching the entire lights off and playing the movie with speakers so that we could get some feel. Joke apart this was an amazing time when all of us were on two neighbor beds and watched that movie. This was adventurous actually. After that a lot of times, we planned to watch a movie in our room but as one of us was a weak-hearted person so we never watched a horror movie again. But an amazing collection of Hollywood action od one of our roommates always served us in such times.
Hostel life boosted my confidence level and made me well-disciplined
Well, apart from all the fun activities I also learnt some positive attitudes from my hostel life. It made me a confident person and let me socialize with a lot of new people in my life. Basically, I was not a person who made a lot of friends. I had rarely two or three friends in my entire life before spending time at a hostel. However, after staying there for one month I made a lot of friends who are still in contact me and we are still spending better time and sharing our lives’ important things with each other. Being at the hostel for one year taught me how to enjoy my life with the people I have with me on time. Other than this hostel life made me a well-disciplined person. Having a tough study routine and carrying extra-curriculars and fun activities parallel taught me how to do justice with my time and how to manage multiple things at once in an effective way.
Well, in a nutshell, this one-month journey was a period of full of fun and excitement and the best teacher for me which has taught me a lot of positive things to spend a good life.
