The recent infographic by Talent Management Institute on learning and development in 2019 along with other findings revealed the importance of talent management. The findings revealed that if an organization provides adequate avenues for learning and development of new skills, about 94% employees will willingly stay back in the organization.
The infographic emphasized on the importance of manager’s role, as about 56% employees felt that they will learn more if their managers were involved in their learning and development program. The employees believed that it will help them if the reporting managers suggested them the course to enhance and develop their skills.
The infographic also focused on the role of talent managers in an organization, which according to the findings is pretty crucial for nurturing the learning culture in an organization and thus the growth. While the role of talent managers is important for companies, according to the infographic talent management professionals believed that employees should make some time for learning and develop new skills. And that managers should be more actively involved in their employees’ career development.
The infographic also accentuated the importance of bridging the gap between the employees and reporting managers, as it highlighted the necessity for easy integration of learning and development programs for enterprises of all sizes. According to the infographic 56% employees felt that they were more inclined towards learning and development programs if their reporting managers invested more time in them and shared programs for enhancing their skills.
Interestingly the infographic also highlighted the thoughts of global talent managers which included motivating the managers to make sure that learning programs are in-line with organizational goals. It also stressed on the fact that about 53% managers were more inclined to encourage learning and development programs if they ensured promotion paths for them. While another 52% managers were more likely to incorporate learning and development programs if it was easy and seamless to incorporate.
In its entirety, the infographic highlighted not only on the importance of learning culture in 2019, but also emphasized on the importance of talent management, if the organizations wanted to stay ahead of their competitors.
