As per the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), every specialized individual working on the construction side needs to own and carry a card depicting his/her job profile and designated responsibilities. Types of CSCS Card
You will have to pass CSCS Test within a time span of two years. You will also need to complete QCF Level 1/SCQF Level 4 in the respective Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
This card is assigned to an apprentice commencing on a recognized framework. This card has a validity of six months only and is not renewed thereafter. After the apprenticeship is over, the card lapses and loses its validity.
- Experienced Supervisor or Technical Manager:
This card is assigned to a manager or a supervisor with a proper job experience but not the member of a professional body and does not have SVQ or NVQ Level 3, 4, and 5.
- Experienced worker:
It is a temporary version of CSCS Card used to designate a person working on the field. This card is valid for a year.
If the individual has registered for a qualification program in either SVQ or NVQ then he is applicable to receive this card. This card is valid for 5 years only and is not renewed henceforth.
- Skilled Worker:
This card signifies the experience of a worker who has passed SVQ or NVQ level 2. It also signifies that he has completed a proper apprenticeship.
- Advanced Craft:
Only a person with SVQ or NVQ Level 3 achievement can receive this card. If he or she has completed an apprenticeship from the employer’s side, he or she is entitled for this card.
This card is applicable for SVQ or NVQ Level 3 and 4.
This card is applicable for SVQ or NVQ level 5,6, and 7.
- Academically Qualified Person
Only a qualified person from a curriculum enlisted in the CSCS Card segment is applicable for the designation.
This card is entitled to employees under probation period. It is valid for six months and not renewed thereafter.
