Having been to New York City for business meetings countless times, it was natural for me to fall in love with it. My obsession with exploring other parts of the country only grew with time. I craved to witness the sunrise at the Grand Canyon, walk on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, explore the grand Walt Disney World, roam around on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, discover the Fisherman’s wharf and relax on the breathtaking beaches in Florida. All this was made possible with Delta airlines, which by far is the most ideal option to fly domestically within America. I highly recommend all travelers to purchase delta Miles as it makes flying within a tight budget possible. For those unsure where to start the tour, here is a guide to help you.
1. New York City
For good reason, I recommend you start with the most vibrant and iconic cities in US. New York City is home to some great tourist attractions. The top destinations include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, the Times Squares and the Statue of Liberty.
Chicago is only a 2 hour 40 minutes flight away from New York City. Purchase Delta miles to bag a significant discount on this flight as it is a short haul one and miles can be easily redeemed. Once you land at O’Hare International airport, the race begins. Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park, Lincoln Park Zoo and Grant Park are only a few of the great destinations in the city. And not to forget the amazing restaurants including Alinea, Avec restaurant, NoMi Kitchen, Gibsons Bar & Steak House, Everest and Frontera Grill.
3. Las Vegas
Turn things up a notch and catch the 4 hour long flight to Vegas next. Vegas needs little introduction. It is the party capital of US. Gamble at the casinos in the day and party at night in the clubs. That’s how you get the real Vegas experience.
4. Los Angeles
More commonly known as L.A, this populous city gives you the real Hollywood experience. Boasting the iconic Hollywood sign on Mount Lee, Los Angeles is home to a huge number of Hollywood celebrities as well so keep your fingers crossed as you may run into Mila Kunis or better yet Johnny Depp. Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood Boulevard, Disneyland and Hollywood Walk of Fame are a few of the must visit destinations in the city.
5. San Francisco
Even though the flight is around 5 hours long from L.A, it is totally worth it as you get to explore the Jewel City of California. You must visit the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. And don’t forget to ride the San Francisco Cable Car.
A tour of USA would be incomplete if you don’t make it Texas and the best city to experience Texas is without doubt Austin. Major points of interest in the city are Lady Bird Park, Barton Springs Pool, Mount Bonnell and Lake Travis.
