When it comes to paint, our focus in on the color. We seem to be confused about choosing the right color paint for our walls. But in doing so, there are multiple questions that we forget to ask ourselves. Our conversation with painters who provide Sydney painting services helped us understand a few of them.
If you have been thinking of getting your walls painted, here are some things you need to ask yourself first:
How much time do you want for this painting project?
If you want the job to be done in the minimum amount of time, consider hiring a professional painting service rather than doing it yourself. While some people do prefer the DIY approach, it is not everyone’s cup of tea.
What matters more: going with the color preference or sticking to a color scheme?
If you want the colors according to your preference, the end result may not be very satisfying. For instance, your children will want to use a color of their choice, you might like a bold color on your wall while your parents may want to go for the cool colors. When deciding the color of your walls, stick to a color scheme. In doing so, you will not feel awkward walking from one room to another. You can actually fit the preferences even while sticking to a color scheme.
What atmosphere do you want to create in different rooms?
If you want your room to be a place of calm and quiet where you can focus more and be more creative, go for a shade of blue or green. If you want a vibrant and lively atmosphere, go for a shade of orange. Decide the mood you want for a particular room and accordingly choose the color.
Should you be compromising on paint quality?
If you want the paint to stand on the walls for a good amount of time, it is best for you to stick to a good quality paint. Also, if the paint quality is poor, the finish and overall appearance won’t be very pleasing to the eye. Spend money now so you can save the repainting expenses in the future.
If you want your walls to speak and convey the right feelings, you need to spend time thinking about these questions. Not giving enough importance just because it was a painting job can prevent your house from turning into a home. Would you really want that?
