Here at GasAir, we can sometimes forget that not everyone understands what all of our fun air conditioning terminologies means. There are some turns of phrase that aren’t glaringly obvious to most people, and one of those is ‘ducted evaporative air conditioning’.
If you’re looking for an air conditioning unit for your home and you’re considering one of these, read on to find out more about what makes it different from the other systems.
How It Works:
Imagine you’re sitting by a lake or ocean. As those cool calming breezes roll in and tickle your face, you can thank the warm air being carried across the surface of the water. The heat of the air is absorbed by the water, causing evaporation and cooling the air without dryness.
This cycle is mimicked in your ducted air conditioning system; the warm air is passed over cool water, causing the water to trap the heat and for freshly cooled air to be passed through. This hot outdoor air is drawn in from ducts then filtered through the home, but as there is no interior recirculation of air, there must be an opening for the air to escape back outside. This guarantees consistent fresh air that won’t dry you out.
