It’s the most wonderful time of the year (or so the song tells us), yet sometimes planning out how to spend the Christmas holidays can prove stressful and overwhelming. The TV commercials tell us that we need to buy more, do more and be more in order to have the perfect Christmas, yet it can be hard to know where to start. Whether you’re planning to host a big family get together, complete with too much food and presents, or whether you’re hoping for some peace and quiet to reflect and recharge this festive period, don’t forget to make it a Christmas to remember for all of the right reasons.
If you promised to host this year’s festivities and immediately regretted it, then save your sofa from wine spills, and your floor from cookie crumbs, and consider planning a soiree at a nearby hotel instead. Inform your relatives that this year there’ll be a party with a view at one of the oceanfront hotels Ocean City MD. Perhaps you could kill two birds with one stone and book a table as well- nothing says Christmas like indulging in a beautiful meal with your nearest and dearest!
With food in mind, if you’re still suffering from turkey overdose after thanksgiving, perhaps treating yourself to something off the epic bar and grill ocean city menu could be just what the doctor ordered. You’ll also have the added bonus of not having to do the dishes or clean the kitchen too, which is always a bonus regardless of the season. After lunch, why not step outside and explore the beaches? The far stretching shore is a beautiful backdrop for a stroll whilst you take some time out for yourself amidst what is for many, a hectic time of year.
Alternatively, you might be craving some serenity after a busy year and are relishing the thought of a low key Christmas celebration of your own. If that’s the case, having no plans could be your biggest plan. You could even squirrel yourself away in solitude at the Ocean city Maryland suites and close the door to the world whilst you indulge in a little ‘me time’. You could do some light reading, watch some cheesy Christmas films, take a long, hot bubble bath or even just catch up on your sleep, whatever you choose to do, you’ll be doing so in luxury.
If you’re the type of person for whom there really is no place like home, then don’t forget to make time for yourself amongst the endless ‘to do’ and shopping lists too. If you can quickly sneak a hot cocoa with extra whipped cream and marshmallows whilst the cookies are baking, or the kids are engrossed in a craft activity, then so much the better. If that’s not going to happen, then maybe you could wait until the little darlings are tucked up tight before serving yourself a large eggnog and toasting to what is indeed, the most wonderful time of the year.
