I think you’ve seen an ad for the new TikTok service at least once. Only the lazy is not talking about him now.
But how did the new social network become so popular? Honestly, I don’t really understand.
For those in the tank. What is TikTok?
TikTok is a service that publishes short videos with music overlay. It is most important to keep within 1 minute (but more often in 15 seconds), getting the rhythm and words of the clipping from the song.
It used to be musical.ly, but merged with the purely Chinese Douyin to create an international version of TikTok. A kind of analogue of the late Vine of our time.
The main slogan is “Every second counts”.
The level of dullness is off scale. But they are watching!
The purpose of the service is to help users share their creativity, knowledge and fun moments.
- face enhancers
- huge library of free tracks
- editing tools
- gluing and duplicating video
- possibility of live broadcast
- the ability to record reactions to video
The popularity of TikTok. Why do we need it?
The active global audience of TikTok at the end of October was 500 million users.
The audience of TikTok is constantly growing, and at the same time the amount of hype is increasing – the application began to be used by popular bloggers, such as Pleasant Ildar, advertising for the service climbs literally from every slot.
Apparently, people just love trendy things. Even if they don’t make much sense. Indeed, what will your classmates tell you if you do not use the new “powerful and rhythmic” service? They will laugh.
True, the majority still retain at least some sanity and do not connect to the next temporary garbage aggregator. Think I’m just belittling social media? This is not true.
Most of the content on TikTok is lip-service-based and have many tiktok comments. This is the repetition of background words with the lips. Or on vidosiks with cool music to frankly mediocre scenes.
Each service has its own path.
Snapchat aims to distribute funny 3D animated masks
Instagram – for publishing life stories in the form of photos and videos
TikTok is trying to give users the ability to diversify content with built-in music overlay.
Moreover, each social network clearly knows its audience. Instagram users are mostly 18-25 years old. Snapchat is used by users over the age of 24.
TikTok found its audience
But TikTok is home to 13-17 year olds. This is the target audience of the service. The creators were still able to find their niche.
Now a generation is growing that is completely dependent on smartphones and spends most of the time in them. Videos for teens are the most common and in-demand content on social networks.
They are literally obsessed with him.
Getting the most information in a minimum of time is the goal of any person. And as awful (to me) TikTok is, it does its job very well.
A few thoughts on this matter
- Why do you need TikTok when there is the same YouTube, oversaturated with videos of different lengths?
- According to my observations, every fifth person in the metro is already using a new service.
- Not only schoolchildren use the service. Even among my friends there were a couple.
Only one question remains open: is it a temporary effect or can TikTok really replace Instagram and similar social networks?
