Fix it – You have to use control joints – horizontal and vertical at not more than 3 meter centers- for high humidity environments. This will help in avoiding compressive and other stresses that will occur some day.
- Adhesion issues occur due to absence of control joints at the door openings and internal corners. Unwanted stresses are the result when materials with distinct expansion and contraction properties butt-up to the ceramic tiles and when there are changes of angle or internal corners.
Fix it – Experts suggest reduction of strength of the mix design will be helpful. Special attention to right application, working time, and mixing should be under supervision. 1:1 ratio for mix design strength is super strong and promotes adhesion issues. But if you change it to 1:3 (1 part of adhesive and 3 parts of sand), it will increase the chances of great adhesion of the ceramic tiles.
