Besides losing weight and getting in tone, going to gym and spending some quality time there, exercising and burning some calories, can add a lot more to your life. It has been proven that a regular physical activity can ensure your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. Being a woman, I know for a reason that sometimes going through the day alone can be a lot; managing work, sparing time for the family and what not. Still, I try to be on time for my gym sessions. By the way, finding a female gym in Sydney was also not an easy task. Although there are plenty of them in the surroundings, I wanted the one that had special programs, community groups and group consultation sessions where I can get trained from an expert while having a sense of community. Plus, I would also be able to share my experiences with a lot of other women like me and vice versa. Hence I found Empowa and so far I’m just loving the overall experience.
- Strengthening and Building Some Muscle Mass
Anyway, one of the most important reasons you should spare some time for your gym sessions is maintaining muscle strength. Yeah, as we age our muscles tend to lose all that strength and stamina and lack of physical activity only escalates this whole process. Talking a bit scientifically, more than 10% of women over the age of 50 suffer from Sarcopenia. It is a condition where you tend to lose 3% of your body mass every year. To make it worse, if you already lack enough physical activity in your lifestyle, this condition gets triggered right from your 30s.
In fact, this is one of the primary reasons I have a full-time membership of a gym. I mean, who wants to get old before time? Besides losing strength, our body also finds it difficult to gain more muscle mass in older age. Hence, lifting some weights can surely aid you in countering all these factors. It sure is a lot of work, and only a few female gyms in Sydney, like Empowa, provide this opportunity of working out in groups and being the part of a larger community of fitness driven bold women.
- Sweating Makes Your Skin Glow
In addition to sweating up a storm and building a muscle or two, going to the gym regularly can also make your skin glow, naturally. Although this argument sounds a bit misconnected, it is real. Plus, I also have noticed it myself. Right from the time I have joined Empowa, “the” best female gym in Sydney, I have noticed my acne condition getting considerably better, plus my pimple problem has also gotten a lot better now. When asked from my trainer, I came to know that exercising improves blood circulation in the capillaries running beneath your skin, hence making the nutrients distribution somewhat more effective. Along with the essential nutrients, most importantly, the oxygen level also gets a lot better in your blood, hence having a positive impact on your skin.
In addition to all the mentioned reasons, I learnt that sweating is also Beneficial for your skin in many different ways. One of them is how it cleans and opens up the pores that have been blocked by dust and dead cells otherwise. It flushes out grease and oil from every layer and gives you an overall fresh look. But make sure to get a shower and a good scrub after your gym session, so as to not let the sweat redeposit on your skin and to prevent any sort of bacterial growth.
- Relieving You from Depression, Anxiety and Stress
Interestingly, exercising has a huge impact on your mood and affects your mental health majorly. You often would have felt a lot relaxed after the gym session, wouldn’t you? Well, this can be attributed to the endorphin that gets released into your bloodstream by the neurotransmitters that are activated during a work-out or physical activity. Endorphin, as medical science says is the “feel good”” hormone that gets you that sense of accomplishment you must have craved every other day. Not only endorphin, but a whole lot of good hormones, like serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine, are also released by a bunch of glands in our body when doing a workout. The later ones impact your mood, hence keeping you safe from disorders like anxiety and depression. Well, I, for sure, have experienced all these positive effects since I have joined one of the best female gyms in Sydney, Empowa.
Do let me know how you feel after a workout? Does it help make your mood pleasant overall? I am also keenly interested to know your workout routines, do share some with me! Until next time!
